Carburizing heat treatment of bearing rings.
This is the specification for the pit furnace. The pit furnaces with the following basic equipments:
Two carburizing furnaces.
One salt bath.
One spare salt tank.
One washing tank.
Electrical power cabinets, control cabinets, gas station etc.
The equipment should be designed in modular units so future additions will be easily incorporated into the system.
The loading and unloading of the rings shall be done manually. The fixture/load carrier to be in the scope of supply.
The loading will be performed manually with a crane supplied by ***. At the loading area, the charge of the rings will be cleaned by hands, before they be put into the furnace.
The charge of the rings will be put into carburizing furnace at process temperature (470°C) for minimum 2 hrs pre-oxidation.
After pre-oxidation the rings shall be heated up to 800°C with Nitrogen, then add process gas and rings shall be heated up to carburizing temperature (Max.970°C).
Keep the load in 970 degrees at 1.2% Cp for carburizing. Time according to required case carburizing depth.
Keep at 970 degrees and reduce to 0.8% Cp for carbon diffusion.
Go to 930 degrees and 0.8% Cp for preparing for quench.
Go directly from 930 degrees to salt quench, submerge directly in salt at 320 degrees. Keep for 20 hours. The salt can be allowed to rise maximum 20 degrees during maximum 5 hours, before the salt get back to its set value of 320 degrees. Cooling down time according to above. Heating up time larger than 3 degrees per hour at 320 degrees. Also the tank shall be able to keep 320 degrees, even if 20% of the heating elements are broken.
After salt bath treatment, lift charge out, air cooling down to 70°C and move it into washing tank clean up salt and air dry, then move charge to buffer area. |
